Men the world over rejoice at the sight of tools and the promise of being able to fix something. With father’s day rapidly approaching the Unite States, it’s time to start thinking of gifts to get your dear old dad. If he’s been struggling in the garage with his tools, perhaps it’s time to buy him a workbench that won’t break your bank, but will provide him with more value than you could have dreamed. The Husky steel workbench is just that piece of equipment that your dad has always needed but never brought himself to buy. You may have to clear a spot in the garage to store this bench, but once the clutter is moved, watch your dad create to his heart’s content.

Time to Start the Project
It’s immediately apparent once the bench is built that it’s built to withstand a beating. It is sturdy all the way around and is the perfect height and size for an average adult doing projects in the garage. Its steel bench surface may get a little scratched, but we’re sure that you won’t be able to destroy it in a hurry, which is a nice rigidity to have on a work surface. If you have a lot of tools, the drawer storage on the bench is also great. While you won’t be able to get things like a skill saw and drill press onto the bench and stored away, you will be able to put all of your screwdrivers and wrenches into the drawers to keep them out of harm’s way. The drawers also have an interesting quirk: They move around. The way that the bench is built allows you to decide where you want to put the drawers. That means that you aren’t restricted to just putting the drawers side by side on the front panel of the bench. You’re free to put them on the sides or on the back of the bench for all around access. All of the good things sum up to a large, solid workspace for a good price point.
A Few Loose Screws
We were a little disappointed to notice that the bench didn’t have a work-light. Most workbenches these days come with some form of light that helps aid you in the dark, but adding an external light shouldn’t be too much of a pain. Also, the back pegboard seems a little thin. The material they used for it doesn’t look like it will hold up huge weight, but for average tools, it does just fine. Lastly, our biggest complaint. We’re a little impatient here at EverydayGuide and like to get things done as fast as possible. The three hour assembly time for this workbench was a little bit of a turn off. Some owners say they managed to get the bench assembled in just under two hours, but we think they might be stretching the truth. If you do decide to buy the bench, have someone help you assemble it to cut down on time and sweat. Though hopefully you’re willing to look past the long assembly time and see how great this bench really is. We’d give it 4.5/5 stars.
